Instructions : Make a letter using anything of everything by using 3 words we chose. The requirements were also that it has to be black and white.
Title : Letter based on 3 words
When I first heard Mr Choy said we looked too relaxed and casual, I was already worried. Then came in the instruction to pick out 3 words that inspires us. My words were "faith, love, colours". Mr Choy's remarks when he heard my words was "Very poetic. Sounds like a love letter!" and everyone laughed it out. So, we were instructed to make a letter using anything of everything by including those 3 words. The requirements were also that it has to be black and white.
I, being so close to following rules, did a legit letter. (Please do not judge okay.)
Then, when I saw what my friends came up with, I thought back and think that this is not right. So, I sat back down again and think. After coming up with a sketch, I quickly gather all the stuff I needed.
So, I grabbed a few piece of newspaper. This is newspaper from The EDGE. The paper is superb. Its not the thin kind of paper.
I grabbed a piece of black paper and wrote out a big L-O-V-E intersecting and very close together.
What I did with the newspaper was I cut them into a few strips and cut them again in triangle, even square shapes. I then paste them on top of the L-O-V-E sign on the black paper.

After pasting all the newspaper on top of it, making sure I covered the black paper, I made sure to cut the sides carefully.
For the word 'faith', I decided to use something in a lighter tone than the greys (on the L-O-V-E) so that it stands out. I initially wanted to use receipt from Poslaju but the paper is too thin that its difficult to work with. I then just use the "news" part of newspaper where it has lots of small texts. I wrote the cursive writing of the word 'faith' and cut it out carefully.
Then, I decided to paste it on top of a mounting board. Reason is because the black paper as the base is not strong enough- it could tear off easily. So, I pasted the letter on top of the mounting board. At this point, I grabbed my eyeliner (because we were not allowed to use artsy stuff for this letter) and write down the 'colours' on the letter. You'd have to really look up-close to see the written colours.
To make it more appealing (at least for me), I cut out the sides of the mounting board. I cut it about a gap of 1cm or so. Cutting it was one of the obstacles that I faced. It was so difficult to cut the round part. I survived thankfully. My cutting skills were commented though, I hope I would improve in the future.

So, we had to choose our favourite letter that our classmates did. My favourites would be
Jeya's
Aina's
Chanel's - everyone's favourite!
