Title of Assignment: 'State of Mind'

So, state of mind... I have no idea. I am very bad in coming up with ideas because I feel restricted at times. Unfortunately for me, my ideas always comes late, like only a few days before the due date.

At first I wanted to do Jean Dubuffet's artwork style. And then I thought, hm it would not look as pretty because black and white (obviously I did not think this through). I, then, changed my mind and decided on doing Peter Blake's. It was like back and forth, either Jean Dubuffet's or Peter Blake's. So, I still did not agree on doing it because I thought doing it in black and white would not make it as strong and cheerful as the artwork I saw while doing the research. (Pardon my quick judgement, I know this is ridiculous).

Because of the time I had left, I decided to do artwork inspired by Barbara Kruger. My basic idea was very simple, not strong enough. I had this idea that I cannot do anything not related to what Barbara Kruger did, hence I felt restricted.

Process
The process was obviously, as you can see, not difficult. I just chose few pictures that I wanted and felt it was nice, I edited it and printed it out. The pictures was printed out in A0 and A1, whilst the words were few pages of 4 papers.

So, this is the size of pictures that I printed. Very big...

I adjust the position which i wanted, then fold the leftover pieces so I know which side and howmuch to cut off

I printed out the 'captions'/'words' that I wish to be paste on top of the picture. I made sure to try out a few angles to make sure I get the right composition

The respond that I got wasn't very good. I learnt that I have to make sure I insert in my style and not copy 100% from the artist. I'll hope to improve better in the future!
