Instructions : Do another 'diy' and create your own instructional drawing

Title of Assignment : Instructional Drawing (part 2)

Last Friday, everyone had a consultation time with Mr Choy. During the consultation, he told me the mistake I made for the first assignment. He also told me to fix my lines when drawing (instructional drawing). Later he told everyone to make another 2 instructional drawings. This time the stuffs must be more eco-friendly.

I came up with the idea of doing something with recycling stuffs. And so, I madea fabric bracelet and a tote bag.

First instructional drawing : Tote Bag

These are the stuffs I used. Yes, only two stuffs needed.

Cut the sleeve off. This is for the tote bag's handle.

Cut a bigger portion around the neck area of the shirt. This is to make it easier to put in stuffs for the bag.

Turn the shirt upside down.

Cut strips at the bottom part of the shirt. Length may vary depending on how big you want the bag to be. I cut it 3 1/2" long and 1" wide.

Making knots! Since this is a no-sew diy, knotting the ends are the better option for it. Take two strips (the front & back strip) and tie them together.

To make sure there's no hole under the bag, we need to tie another knot. Take one hanging strip (that has been knotted once), and take another one next to it, then tie them together. Make sure its not the same pair of strip that has been tied in the first knots.

After tying the knots, turn the shirt upside down, to hide the knots.

In the end, it'd look something like this.

Second instructional drawing : Fabric Bracelet

These are the stuffs needed for the second craft.

I didn't use much from the old  shirt fabric. I only cut off fabrics from the sleeve. Cut the strips into 3 long strips and 1 short strip.

3 strips for the bracelet, 1 strip to tie them up.

Put the top part of the 3 long strips (A,B,C) together.

This is optional. Glue can alsonbe used to attach the strips but I prefer to sew them instead.

Braid the strips.

After braiding those 3 long strips together, take the short strip and put it under the braid. Make sure the origin part and the end part of the braid is on top of the short strip (D). Glue them together onto the short strip.

Glue the edges of the short strip then pull it over to secure it. This is to make sure the bracelet is secure.

In the end, it'd look something like this.
